The Gophers women’s hockey team upped their record unbeaten streak to 38 games with a 5-3 win and weekend sweep of the Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio, Saturday, reports the Pioneer Press.
The win over the Buckeyes (16-12-2, 11-11-2) also put the Gophers at 30-0 for the season and 24-0 in the WCHA. The tally marks the sixth time the Gophers have had a 30-win season.
Amanda Kessel scored two goals for the Gophers to raise her season total to 40, while goalie Noora Raty had 23 saves for her 28th victory this season.
The team has four games left on the WCHA schedule, starting with two games against Bemidji State at Ridder Arena next Friday and Saturday.
