One of Logan Cooley or Matthew Knies could become the first Gopher to win the Hobey Baker Award since Jordan Leopold in 2002.
Cooley and Knies were named finalists alongside Michigan’s Adam Fantilli for the 2023 Hobey Baker Award.

Freshman forward Cooley, who was selected 3rd by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2022 NHL Draft, has 20 goals and 37 assists this season for the 26-8-1 Gophers this season.
Knies, a sophomore forward, has 20 goals and 21 assists for the Gophers this season.
Adam Fantilli, a freshman forward for Michigan, has the most points in college hockey this season racking up 29 goals and 35 assists for the 23-11-3 Wolverines.
All three finalists are set to play in the Frozen Four next week when Minnesota takes on Boston University and Michigan faces Quinnipiac on Tuesday.
