The annual Minnesota Twins Winter Caravan will hit the road Jan. 12 and travel to 40 cities in Twins Territory before coming to a halt on Jan. 22, the team announced Monday. Fans will get a chance to meet players, coaches and broadcasters.
The caravan will feature four legs, with the first beginning on the 12th and making stops in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Aitkin, Brainerd and Grand Rapids, WCCO reports. Twins closer Glen Perkins, manager Paul Molitor, assistant coach Gene Glynn, Twins president Dave St. Peter and radio broadcaster Kris Atteberry will be available to fans in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Molitor’s group will also stop in Red Wing, Northfield, Winona and the Iowa towns of Cedar Rapids, Cedar Falls, Iowa Falls and Mason City.
Pitchers Kyle Gibson and Caleb Thielbar, along with Dan Gladden, a former player turned radio announcer, will make the trip to Aitkin, Brainerd and Grand Rapids.
Reliever Brian Duensing, second baseman Brian Dozier and broadcasters Jack Morris and Dick Bremer will make stops between Jan. 19-22 in Montevideo, Marshall, Worthington, Windom, Sleepy Eye, Mankato, Faribault, Owatonna, Chatfield, Rochester and Sioux Falls.
Twins legend Tony Oliva will headline another group that also includes outfielder Jordan Schafer, third baseman Trevor Plouffe and broadcasters Bert Blyleven and Corey Provus. They’ll make stops in Little Falls, Alexandria, Wadena, Staples, St. Cloud, Morris, Wahpeton, Fergus Falls, Ortonville, Benson and Willmar.
