After postponing Monday’s game against the Boston Red Sox following the Sunday police killing of Daunte Wright, the Minnesota Twins will play Tuesday’s game as scheduled at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday.
Monday’s postponed game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday. The first game of the doubleheader will start at 1:10 p.m., immediately followed by the second game. Both games will be 7 innings instead of 9 innings.
“Fans holding tickets for Wednesday’s originally scheduled 1:10 p.m. game will receive admission to both games of the straight doubleheader,” the Twins announced.
The Twins will continue to monitor civil unrest in the Twin Cities and make decisions as needed, according to Twins President Dave St. Peter.
“We’re in regular communication with law enforcement as well as people within the governor’s office and elsewhere, and it’s something we’re monitoring,” St. Peter said. “We would obviously like to play games when it’s appropriate to play them, but at this point, those are decisions that will be made here in the days to come.”
The Minnesota Wild and Timberwolves also postponed games on Monday. The Wild have rescheduled the game against the St. Louis Blues to May 12.
The Timberwolves and Nets were postponed Monday night, and the game will be made up Tuesday at 3 p.m. Fans will not be allowed to attend the game. Those who had tickets will be refunded.
