The Minnesota Twins’ home game against the Detroit Tigers that was supposed to be played last Sunday now has a makeup date.
The Twins will host a day-night doubleheader on Aug. 23, with Sunday’s rain-postponed contest set for 12:10 p.m. that day. The game originally scheduled for 6:10 p.m. that day will be pushed back to 7:10 p.m.
Fans with tickets to the delayed game can either use it as admission for the early game on Aug. 23, or trade it in as a voucher for value toward the purchase of a ticket for another regular season game.
The doubleheader comes in the middle of what was originally a three-game series against Detroit.
The Twins are taking hosting the Orioles Saturday afternoon, coming off a 3-0 series-opening loss Friday.
Baltimore starter Ubaldo Jimenez pitched 7 1/3 scoreless innings, giving up just three hits. He picked up the win, while Tommy Hunter earned the save. Twins starter Ricky Nolasco matched Jimenez early, keeping the Orioles quiet the first three innings. But in the fourth Baltimore’s Matt Wieters drove in Nelson Cruz to get the Orioles on the scoreboard.
The game stayed there until Cruz stepped up and crushed a two-run homer into left field.
Minnesota made its move of Mike Pelfrey to the DL official Saturday morning.

That move comes just a day after the Twins placed Aaron Hicks on the seven-day DL because of concussion-like symptoms.
