An hour before the deadline, the Twins released the 25-man roster they’ll battle the Yankees with in the best-of-five American League Division Series that begins with Game 1 at 6:07 p.m. Friday.
As you’ll see, Willians Astudillo did not make the cut while Luis Arraez, Ehire Adrianza, Max Kepler, Marwin Gonzalez, Kyle Gibson and Brusdar Graterol have all made the roster.
Jose Berrios will start Game 1 for the Twins, and these are the pitchers that’ll join him for the series.
Pitchers
- Jose Berrios
- Randy Dobnak
- Tyler Duffey
- Kyle Gibson
- Brusdar Graterol
- Zack Littell
- Trevor May
- Jake Odorizzi
- Taylor Rogers
- Sergio Romo
- Devin Smeltzer
- Cody Stashek
The biggest name left off the roster is left-hander Martin Perez, who struggled down the stretch as a starter. Gibson also struggled, but the Twins have been using him out of the bullpen, a key indicator of how they’ll use him in the playoffs.
Still no word from the Twins on who will start games 2 and 3 of the series, but the underlying belief is that it’ll be Dobnak and Odorizzi, in either order.
Catchers
- Jason Castro
- Mitch Garver
Infielders
- Ehire Adrianza
- Luis Arraez
- C.J. Cron
- Marwin Gonzalez
- Jorge Polanco
- Miguel Sano

Outfielders

The most noteworthy inclusion is Arraez, who suffered a high ankle sprain a week ago, has healed enough to the point that he’ll be available for the series. Kepler is also active, as expected, though he hasn’t had an at-bat in a game since Sept. 14.
