The Minnesota Twins beat up on the Kansas City Royals, 10-2, on Tuesday night to even up the series.
Despite the win, the Twins may have also suffered a big loss, though.
First baseman Joe Mauer left the game in the fifth inning after straining his right oblique while running to second base on a double in the fourth inning. Mauer had just laced a two-run double to left field to give the Twins a four-run lead.
He will be re-evaluated on Wednesday.
Eduardo Nunez played a big part of the Twins victory. He was 3-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored and two runs batted in. His homer highlighted a five run sixth inning for Minnesota.
Kendrys Morales also was 3-for-5. He drove in and scored a run.
The Twins got to Royals starter James Shields early. They put up a run against him in the first inning, another one in the third, then poured it on with the three run fourth.
Ricky Nolasco (5-6) benefitted from the run support, but he threw well. Nolasco held the Royals to one run on eight hits through six innings to pick up the win.

Shields took the loss.
The Twins pounded out 15 hits in the game, all of the starters had at least one hit.
The Twins and Royals finish the series on Wednesday afternoon, first pitch is at 12:10.
