The Minnesota Twins have fallen below .500 (31-32) for the first time this season after Thursday’s 4-2 loss to the Rays, who sept the reeling Twins in the three-game series at Tropicana Field.
Minnesota managed just six hits, with their two runs coming on solo homers by Carlos Correa and Michael A. Taylor. The offense has spiraled into an out-of-control tailspin, having scored just seven runs over the last six games – two or fewer in all six contests.
The Twins have dropped five consecutive games overall and the schedule doesn’t get any easier with a three-game series at Toronto starting Friday. The Blue Jays are 8-2 in their last ten games, including winning two of three against the Twins at Target Field in that stretch.
Note: Jorge Polanco left the game early with hamstring tightness.
