It’s been one heckuva year for the Minnetonka High School baseball team, and on Wednesday it got even better thanks to a surprise from the Minnesota Twins.
In cooperation with Supercuts, the Twins had pitcher Trevor Hildenberger surprise the entire baseball team with free haircuts and hair product for a year, all part of a prize associated with Skippers head coach Paul Twenge being named the 2018 Diamond National Coach of the Year by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

“I knew it wasn’t a meeting because I had nothing on my calendar, but then when all the shades were pulled I thought it was something,” said Twenge. “I really appreciate you all showing up. You hang around for a long time…. stuff happens. Thanks.”
The entire team will also watch the Twins play the White Sox in a suite at Target Field in the penultimate game of the season on Saturday, Sep. 29.
Minnetonka lost to Stillwater in the Class AAAA state championship game last season, equalling the best finish in the school’s history.
“A fantastic season. Proud isn’t a word you like to use much, but I am with these guys. They played way beyond what they were supposed to,” Twenge said after the season, according to the Chanhassen Villager.
