The Twins have agreed to a two-year, $10 million deal with free agent starter Kevin Correia.
The righthander — an All-Star in 2011 — went 12-11 with a 4.21 ERA with the Pirates last season.
After looking at Correia’s numbers — and the multi-year deal he wrangled — the early reviews aren’t encouraging.
At TwinsDaily.com, blogger Nick Nelson calls the move “depressing.”
Blogger Aaron Gleeman agrees, saying “a two-year commitment at $5 million per seasons seems awfully silly.”
His colleague, John Bonnes, says Correia’s ERA over the last two years “is 4.49 and that’s pitching in the National League.”
On Twitter, the response is just as rough:
It was Livan Hernandez in 2008 Jason Marquis in 2012 & now its gonna be Kevin Correia in 2013. At least the #MNTwins are being consistent…

If Terry Ryan were driving the way he's been tinkering w/the #MNTwins roster he'd be reciting the alphabet backwards to the cops right now.

Speculation: Kevin Correia retires after reading Twitter enthusiasm about his signing. #MNTwins
