The Twins’ bats came alive in the dead of the night with a three-run rally in the ninth inning to beat the Angels 5-4 in Los Angeles Friday night.
Eddie Rosario led off the ninth with a solo home run to right – his second of the game team leading ninth of the season – to cut the deficit to 4-3.
After a strikeout by Robbie Grossman, Logan Morrison doubled and scored the tying run on a single down the right-field line by pinch hitter Mitch Garver. Max Kepler than cruised home from third on the go-ahead sac fly by Bobby Wilson to give Minnesota a 5-4 lead.
The Twins had been 0-13 when trailing after eight innings this season, according to ESPN.

Fernando Rodney earned the save despite Mike Trout ending the game on a 118 mph line out to short, the hardest hit ball by an Angels player since Statcast debuted in 2015.
It was another subpar performance by Lance Lynn. The right-hander allowed four runs on eight hits and two walks and was pulled after walking a batter with the bases loaded in the fifth inning.
Lynn has pitched six innings in just two of his seven starts this season and has a rather ugly 7.34 ERA.
