The health of Twins prospect Miguel Sano is improving.
Sano’s injured right elbow was re-examined by team doctors and the results show that “he’s improving,” Twins General Manager Terry Ryan told the Pioneer Press on Thursday.
“There have been some positive results,” Ryan said Thursday. “He’ll be re-examined in early January.”
Sano is the No. 3 rated prospect in all of baseball, according to Baseball America. He finished his 2013 season between Class A Fort Myers and Double-A New Britain with an incredible 35 home runs and 103 RBI in just 123 games.
Fellow top prospect, actually the No. 1 prospect by Baseball America, Byron Buxton, was shut down in earlier November because of a left shoulder strain.
In a related story, Buxton showcased his work ethic when he drove to a public library to gain internet access after lightening knocked out the internet he was using. He did so just to do an online interview with Baseball America. The Pioneer Press has the full story.
