The Twins blasted the White Sox, 9-2 Tuesday night. Minnesota has won 18 of its last 23 games in Chicago, and 8 straight against Gavin Floyd, who gave up all nine runs in less than four innings. Meanwhile, P.J. Walters was outstanding for the Twins. The rookie righthander struck out eight in a complete game victory.
Offensively, the Twins did damage in the second and fourth innings. They struck for four runs in the second on a two-run double by Alexi Casilla and RBI singles from Jamey Carroll and Denard Span.
Minnesota exploded for five-runs in the fifth inning on a two-out, two-run single by Josh Willingham and a three-run homer from Justin Morneau, his sixth of the season.
