Twins recall Miguel Sano after torrid hitting streak at Triple-A Rochester

After a strong showing during a rehab stint at Triple-A Rochester, the Minnesota Twins have activated Miguel Sano from the disabled list. 

The power-hitting third baseman missed the last 24 games with a strained hamstring, but his bat was red-hot in five games at Rochester, hitting .375 (6-for-16) with two home runs, three RBI and three walks. 

All six of his hits came in his last 12 at-bats, so he got really hot after a slow start. 

Sano is expected to be back in the lineup when the Twins open a road trip in Seattle on Friday night.

To make room on the 25-man roster, the Twins optioned outfielder Jake Cave back to Triple-A Rochester. 

Note: Sano played third base and was on the field competing against his former Twins teammate, Trevor Plouffe, who is playing for the Lehigh Iron Pigs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.
