The Twins lost to the Dodgers 9-8 in 12 innings Monday night, a less than desirable outcome after a strong comeback in the opening of a three-game series in Los Angeles.
Minnesota trailed 6-3 in the eight inning before Byron Buxton hit a leadoff single, followed by a double off the wall in right by Jorge Polanco and then a game-tying three-run homer by Trevor Larnach deep into the seats in right-center field.

The Dodgers struck back with a run in the bottom of the eight to retake the lead 7-6, but the Twins again responded with a RBI double from Buxton in the top of the ninth to force extra innings.
In the 10th, the Twins loaded the bases with nobody out and Christian Vazquez walked to put the Twins ahead 8-7. Donovan Solano then struck out swinging, Alex Kirilloff struck out looking and Michael A. Taylor flied out to center.
Los Angeles responded in the bottom of the 10th with an RBI single by JD Martinez.
In the 12th, the Twins had Jorge Lopez on the mound and decided to load the bases by intentionally walking Freddie Freeman and Max Muncy, who had hit two homers earlier in the game, and then Lopez walked in the winning run.
