The Twins rallied for a 6-4 win on Wednesday evening, but they also lost another outfielder in Eddie Rosario to an injury.
Rosario was diagnosed with an ankle sprain after rounding first base in the third inning. He’s listed as day-to-day. Considering Minnesota is already without Byron Buxton, there is some cause for concern.
Buxton is on the injured list, dealing with a wrist injury, while fellow outfielder Max Kepler left Tuesday’s game with an elbow contusion. He did end up coming into Wednesday’s game as a defensive replacement, but he didn’t have an at-bat.
The good news is Buxton is progressing well, as he’s been hitting in the cages with no discomfort. Do-Hyong Park of MLB.com notes he’ll hopefully get some pregame time in the field on Thursday if the weather cooperates.
Nonetheless with Marwin Gonzalez also on the injured list and if Kepler can’t play a full game, the Twins might have to trot out an outfield of Jake Cave, Willians Astudillo and Luis Arraez, which is not encouraging.
After blowing a 3-0 lead, the Twins trailed 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh but Nelson Cruz delivered a bases-clearing double to give Minnesota the 6-4 lead.

Jake Odorizzi started for the Twins but was pulled after 91 pitches through 5.1 innings. Odorizzi allowed three runs, on four hits, with seven strikeouts and two walks.
Blake Parker and Taylor Rogers preserved the lead in the eighth and ninth innings to secure the win.
With the victory, the Twins improve to 52-27 on the season and will close out the series with Tampa on Wednesday, with first pitch at 12:10. Martin Perez will start on the mound.
