The Twins put together four straight two-out hits in the seventh inning, scoring two runs to pull away from the Orioles and win 6-4 at Target Field Tuesday night. Ben Revere and Joe Mauer delivered the run-scoring singles.
Sam Deduno struggled in his second MLB start with the Twins. He lasted 4.1 innings, allowing four runs on six hits and five walks. Once again the bullpen did a great job. Jeff Gray, Tyler Robertson, Alex Burnett, Glen Perkins and Jared Burton finished the game, allowing just one hit over the final 4.2 innings. Burton earned the save.
Ryan Doumit went 2-3 with 2 RBI and Trevor Plouffe extended his hitting streak to 15 games. Justin Morneau’s 14 game hitting streak came to an end.
