The Twins played nearly all of Saturday night’s game against the Mariners from behind.
But they got ahead when it counted most.
Minnesota scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, capped by a walk-off single from Kurt Suzuki, to beat the Seattle Mariners 3-2.
Suzuki, who is batting just .182 over his past seven games, cracked a single to left field with two outs in the inning, bringing Eddie Rosario in from third base for the win.

Minnesota entered the final frame trailing 2-1, thanks to Twins starter Kyle Gibson holding the Mariners to just six hits and 2 earned runs through seven innings.
Miguel Sano led off the bottom of the ninth with a double, and was replaced on the base paths by Shane Robinson. He went to third base on a wild pitch, and after Rosario was intentionally walked, scored on another wild pitch. (It was the second run the Twins scored in the game off a wild pitch.)
That moved Rosario to second. He promptly stole third, and Suzuki brought him home with the single.
Trevor May picked up the win for Minnesota. The bullpen didn’t give up a hit in two innings of work. Seattle’s Carson Smith took the loss.
The teams close out the four-game series at Target Field Sunday at 1:10 p.m. Minnesota is just 5-9 over its past 14 games, and hasn’t won a series since July 12.
