
The Twins rallied for a 4-3 win in 12 innings against the Oakland Athletics on Thursday night.
In the bottom of the 12th, Byron Buxton scored the go-ahead run when Mitch Garver roped an RBI single. Garver finished the game going 2-for-6 at the plate with two RBI.

Taylor Rogers ran into some trouble in the bottom half of the inning, as Matt Chapman was stranded at third base but Rogers picked up his 11th save to secure the win.
It’s the eighth time this season the Twins have avoided losing three consecutive games.
After trailing 3-0 through five frames, Minnesota rallied for runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. Jorge Polanco hit his 12th home run to tie things up in the eighth, and it was the 161st home run of the season for the Twins, tying the MLB record for home runs before the All-Star break.

Kyle Gibson started on the bump for the Twins and the right-hander went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits, while walking four batters and striking out five.
Minnesota’s bullpen was superb with Zach Littell, Ryne Harper, Tyler Duffey, Blake Parker and Rogers pitching six shutout innings in the victory.
With the win, the Twins improve to 54-31 and will close out their series against Oakland on Thursday afternoon. Jose Berrios will start for Minnesota.
