The Twins pulled off a big win defeating the New York Yankees 7-3 at Yankee Stadium on Saturday.
It’s the first win for the Twins at Yankee Stadium since June of 2016, snapping an eight-game losing streak.
Mitch Garver put Minnesota on the board in the top of the third with a two-run home run. The catcher had another big day at the plate going 3-5 and is slashing .333/.387/.719 on the season.

After Byron Buxton scored in the fifth, CJ. Cron padded the team’s lead with a solo blast in the sixth inning.

Starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi was superb for a second straight start, going six innings, allowing just two hits with eight strikeouts. He hasn’t allowed a run in his past 13 innings pitched.
Minnesota’s bullpen did run into some trouble, as relievers Trevor Hildenberger and Blake Parker surrendered three runs, but Parker got a huge double play to end the eight inning.
In the top of the ninth, designated hitter Nelson Cruz added a solo shot for good measure, with Taylor Rodgers shutting the door in the bottom half to secure the victory.
With Saturday’s win, the Twins improve to 20-11 and will close out the series with the Bronx Bombers on Sunday with first pitch at 3:05 C.T. The game was originally scheduled to be played at noon but due to the inclement weather in New York, the Yankees moved the start time.
