The Arizona Fall League is an off-season league that the MLB runs which mostly includes top prospects from minor league baseball.
The 21-year old Gordon was drafted by the Twins with the fifth-overall pick in the 2014 MLB draft. Gordon was ranked as high No. 47 in MLB’s top 100 prospects.
He spent all of 2016 with the Fort Meyers Miracle – the Twins’ A+ affiliate – hitting .291 with 23 doubles and 19 stolen bases.
The shortstop isn’t much of a power hitter, but he’s been a patient hitter with great speed, scoring 135 runs over his last two seasons in the minors.
Baseball is in Gordon’s blood. His brother, Dee Gordon, plays for the Marlins and his father, Tom Gordon, played 21 seasons in the big leagues.
