The Twins No. 3 prospect Alex Meyer had another outstanding start in the minors at Triple-A Rochester.
On Thursday night, Meyer tossed five hitless innings and earned his second win of the season as Rochester beat Columbus, 5-4.
Meyer is currently ranked No. 25 on MLBPipeline.com’s Top 100 Prospects list, and is the Twins top pitching prospect.
He struck out seven, but walked four in five scoreless innings.

“It was good for us to get the win, but I wasn’t too excited about the four walks,” Meyer told MLB.com. “I walked a couple of guys in the first inning, and that’s never something you want to do.”
Meyer has not thrown a no-hitter as a professional. He took one into the sixth last year in the Arizona Fall League, that was the longest no-hit outing for Meyer since high school.
Meyer was taken out of the game after the fifth inning, with the no-hitter still in tact.

Meyer has been the talk of the Twins system since he impressed in the spring. He struck out 11 in back-to-back outings, earlier in the season.
Meyer is now 2-1 with a 3.79 ERA in eight starts this season. He leads the International League with 49 strikeouts.
