Twins third baseman Miguel Sano has been placed on the 10-day disabled list because of a strained left hamstring.
The move is retroactive to April 28, so he’s eligible to return next week, either early on in St. Louis or later in the week, when the Twins play the Angels in Los Angeles.
Sano has struggled this season, hitting just .217 with 17 hits in 20 games, although he leads the Twins with five home runs and 14 RBI.
He also leads the team in strikeouts, with a whopping 36 of them in just 80 at-bats.
