The Twins have placed outfielder Oswaldo Arcia on the 15-day disabled list. The Twins say Arcia tested his injured right wrist in batting practice prior to the team’s loss to the Oakland A’s 7-4.
Arcia has been out since Friday with the wrist injury. The team says his injury hasn’t been getting better, so he was placed on the DL retroactive to Saturday.
In Arcia’s place, the Twins called up Darin Mastroianni from Triple-A Rochester. Mastroianni will join the Twins in time for Thursday’s game against Oakland.

The Twins did not place Josh Willingham on the DL. Willingham is dealing with a bruised left wrist after he was hit by a pitch on Sunday from Justin Masterson. The team expects him to be avoid the disabled list.
Twins assistant general manager Rob Antony said before Wednesday’s game, “Willingham is still sore, but it doesn’t have the biting pain, so he’s heading in the right direction. Arcia took a full round of BP and still feels it.”
The addition of Mastroianni Wednesday fills the Twins’ 40-man roster.
According to the Star Tribune, Mastroianni started 9-for-20 with the Red Wings. He will give the Twins an option if they want to give Aaron Hicks a day off in center field, and also could be used alongside Hicks to increase the range in the outfield.
The Twins and Athletics resume the series on Thursday at 12:10.
