When the Twins take the field on Thursday night in Arlington, Texas, a familiar face will be back in the dugout and working with the pitchers.
Six weeks after pitching coach Neil Allen was arrested and charged with DWI, the Twins have reinstated him, and he’ll return to his duties as the Twins’ pitching coach.

Allen spoke to the media prior to Thursday night’s game.

According to the Pioneer Press, Allen completed a treatment program in the Twin Cities.
He was arrested early in the morning on May 26 and charged with third-degree DWI. Allen’s first court appearance for charge is set for July 27 in Hennepin County Court.
Following the arrest, the team suspended Allen with pay and said the matter would be handled “in accordance with the policies and procedures” of the Twins.
Eric Rasmussen, who filled in for Allen while he was away from the team, returned to his full-time role as the Twins minor league pitching coordinator.
