The Twins announced today they have activated outfielder Darin Mastroianni from the 60-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple A Rochester.
Mastroianni has missed all but eight games this year following an ankle injury during spring training. Mastroianni played through the injury and started two games early in the season before being placed on the disabled list and subsequently needing surgery on what was deemed a stress reaction.
Mastroianni takes the place of Jamey Carroll on the 40-man roster, who was traded to Kansas City for a player to be named later last week.
