You won’t see Joe Mauer in a Twins lineup until Tuesday, at the earliest.
The Minnesota catcher has opted to stay in the Twin Cities instead of flying back to Seattle Saturday to rejoin the team on its west coast road trip.
Mauer bolted out of Anaheim this past Tuesday to be with his wife, Maddie, as the couple welcomed twin girls into the world.
According to Twins p.r. director Dustin Morse, the newborns are doing fine, but the Mauer’s decided Joe should stay home and rejoin the team at Target Field when Minnesota hosts Kansas City Tuesday.
The move, according to the Star Tribune, means that Mauer will be moved from the paternity leave list to the unpaid restricted list.
