Twins catcher Joe Mauer hopes 2013 will be a playoff year.
He tells Fox Sports North getting back to the playoffs is his top goal.
Another is topping his career mark of playing in 147 games. He did that last year, splitting time between catcher and first.
As for the revamped starting Twins rotation, Mauer, 29, says the team is in “pretty good shape.” As he puts it: We’ve go some young arms and some guys that can throw right away.”
Mauer made his comments during the Twins Winter Caravan tour, which took him to Minneapolis, Red Wing and Oakdale today. He’s also set to make an appearance at TwinsFest at the Metrodome this weekend.
