The Minnesota Twins have good news for season ticket holders.
No, they haven’t figured out a way to bring in Miguel Cabrera.
No, they haven’t made complex deals to add Matt Harvey, Max Scherzer, Felix Hernandez and Justin Verlander to round out the starting rotation.
And there’s still no commitment to have Miguel Sano in the starting lineup at third base.
OK, how about Minny and Paul as on-the-field mascots instead of T.C. Bear?
Now there’s an idea! But not yet (we want full credit if that ever happens).
Actually, the big news out of the warehouse district is that season ticket prices won’t go up for a third consecutive year.
This, as the team steams toward a third consecutive 90-loss season.
According to Twins.com:
“I’d like to thank our season ticket holders and all Twins fans for their unparalleled passion and support of Minnesota Twins baseball,” said Twins President Dave St.Peter. “It’s hard to imagine there is a better fan base in all of baseball. As we approach an exciting 2014 season that will feature a once-in-a-generation MLB All-Star Game at Target Field, fans can rest assured that we will continue to make strides in relation to restoring the Twins winning tradition while continuing to ensure that the Target Field experience remains one of the best in pro sports.”
But that’s not all!
The Twins also announced that “season ticket holders and one guest will have exclusive access to early batting practice on select Monday through Thursday home games.”
We’re presuming that’s “free” access, as opposed to the fiasco that happened earlier this year when it leaked that the club was going to ask for an extra $15 to see batting practice.
So what about single season tickets? Will they increase in price?
That’s the part of this story that’s to be continued … per Twins officials: “Single-game ticket information will be announced later this year.”
