For the 14th time this season the Minnesota Twins have lost a game in walk-off fashion, and for the 10th time it came via a home run as MLB home run leader Khris Davis slugged his second of the game and 45th of the season to give Oakland a 7-6 win in 10 innings Friday night.
It’s a huge win of the A’s as they stay one game behind the Yankees in the wild card race, although at this point they’re simply fighting for home-field advantage in the one-game wild card playoff.
Meanwhile, the Twins, who scored six times in the sixth inning Friday night, have just nine games left. They play two more in Oakland this weekend and then return to the Twin Cities for the final week of action with games against the Tigers and White Sox Tuesday through Sunday.
