It’s a late game tonight as the Twins take on the Angels in Anaheim.
Samuel Deduno starts for Minnesota in the 9:05 central time start. Deduno (5-4, 3.81 ERA) is coming off a stellar start in the Bronx the Saturday before the All-Star break. In that one, he held the Yankees to one run over seven innings to help Minnesota snap a soul-crushing six-game losing streak.
For the Angels, it’s Joe Blanton (2-12, 5.53 ERA) on the mound. He’s having a terrible year, as he leads the American League in losses, earned runs allowed and home runs allowed.
The Twins are 2-0 against Los Angeles this season, taking both in a pair of April chillers at Target Field. The Angels, though, have won their past five home games against the Twins.
The rest of the Angels series shapes up like this:
Tuesday: 9:05 p.m. — Kyle Gibson (2-2, 6.45 ERA) vs. Tommy Hanson (4-2, 5.10 ERA).
Wednesday: 2:35 p.m. — Mike Pelfrey (4-7, 5.40 ERA) vs. Jared Weaver (4-5, 3.30 ERA).
After Anaheim, the Twins head to Seattle for a four-game set against the Mariners.
