A little under halfway through the season the Twins have played the eighth toughest schedule, according to Power Rankings Guru. But with a two-and-a-half-game lead in the AL Central, the Twins are set to embark on the easiest remaining schedule in all of the baseball.
Power Rankings Guru’s strength of schedule is determined by a team’s ranking in its Composite MLB Power Rankings, an aggregate of power rankings from around the web. Over the remaining 93 games, the Twins will play 56 games against teams currently under .500, including the next 10 in a row against the Tigers and Red Sox.
Minnesota’s AL Central rivals are all under .500 and account for 32 of the Twins’ remaining games.
According to Power Rankings Guru, the Twins have an average opponent ranking of 18.50. That’s bad. The Twins’ closest rival in the Central, the Cleveland Guardians, have the 19th toughest schedule (15.80).
