The Twins have selected Boston Red Sox pitcher Ryan Pressly in the Rule 5 draft, according to Twins blogger Aaron Gleeman.
Pressly pitched in Class A and AA in the Boston farm system last year, posting a 7-5 record with a 5.38 ERA.
While that resume isn’t earth-shattering, Gleeman notes “the Rule 5 draft is about trying to make something out of nothing and he’s intriguing at least.”
As Seth Stohs from TwinsDaily.com points out, Scott Diamond and former Twin Shane Mack are two examples of the Rule 5 draft working out extremely well.
