The Minnesota Twins let one slip away on Tuesday night, mounting an early lead against Cleveland Indians ace Shane Bieber, but ultimately falling by a score of 4-2.
The Twins had an uphill battle against the undefeated Bieber and the Indians made things tougher when Jose Ramirez stole a pair of bases off Rich Hill and scored on a Carlos Santana single to put Cleveland up 1-0 after one inning.
Staked to an early lead, Bieber didn’t bring his best stuff against the Twins, which led to a second-inning rally. Luis Arraez smacked an RBI double and Max Kepler hit an RBI single off Bieber to give the Twins a 2-1 lead.

The Twins’ advantage lasted until the sixth inning when Jorge Alcala came in and served up a two-run homer to Twins nemesis Francisco Lindor.
A Tyler Naquin RBI double opened up the game to give Cleveland a 4-2 lead and the Twins couldn’t mount more offense against the Cleveland bullpen to seal their fate.
The Twins still own a 1.5 game lead over the Indians for first place in the American League Central and will send Jose Berrios for the rubber match on Wednesday night against Mike Clevinger.
