When the Twins host the Detroit Tigers at Target Field for the home opener on April 1 they’ll likely be playing in chilly spring conditions.
Brian Murphy of the Pioneer Press reports that the Twins were given a chilly rehearsal for the home opener during Sunday’s spring training practice in Fort Myers, Florida.
The temperature never climbed out of the mid-40s — the kind of cold that will cause Floridians to break out their winter jackets.
“We get this day on April 1, we’d be pretty happy,” Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said.
KARE 11 and BMTN’s Eric Perkins is covering the team in Florida and we’re following him on Twitter.
