A 6-0 shutout over the Tigers on Tuesday gives the Twins a chance to sweep the three-game series Wednesday afternoon with Kyle Gibson on the mound for the 12:10 p.m. first pitch.
Gibson will try to make it three straight gems by Twins starting pitchers. Jose Berrios fired eight outstanding innings on Monday and Lance Lynn pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings Tuesday.
The Twins had just seven hits in the game but five of them were doubles, two for Brian Dozier and Ehire Adrianza and one for Max Kepler.

The highlight of the game came in the seventh inning when Kepler and Adrianza smacked back-to-back doubles, followed by Byron Buxton singling and reaching second base on a fielder’s choice, and then another double by Dozier.
Buxton’s speed probably warranted a ruling of a double, but the official scorer at Target Field ruled different, otherwise it would’ve been four consecutive doubles by Twins batters.
