White Sox out, Red Sox in at Target Field tonight as the Twins get back to work.
Boston (24-17) is in town for a three- game series, with right-hander Clay Buchholz (6-0, 1.69 ERA) on the mound. His worst start so far this year was against the Twins on May 6, but Boston eventually won that game after he was knocked out.
The Twins counter with Vance Worley (1-4, 7.15), who continues to struggle. A stat that hammers that point home? In the last 15 innings, he’s given up 30 hits. During all that, he still managed to win a game — his first of the year — last weekend against Baltimore.
Minnesota (18-19) hopes to finish strong on this homestand.
So far, it hasn’t been too impressive, as they’ve dropped four of six to Baltimore and Chicago.
