The Twins’ push for a wild card spot will have to wait another day.
The second game of their series with the Indians in Cleveland was rained out Tuesday night. The two teams will play in a traditional doubleheader Wednesday starting at 3:10 p.m. CDT.
Tonight’s #MNTwins-Indians game has been postponed due to rain. Doubleheader tomorrow:
Game 1: 3:10 CT
Game 2: 30 minutes after Game 1— Minnesota Twins (@Twins) September 30, 2015
The Twins trail the Astros by 1 1/2 games and Los Angeles by one game entering play on Tuesday night.
Minnesota has won six of its last eight games, but hasn’t been able to catch up with the Astros and Angels who have been winning as well.
The Star Tribune’s LaVelle E. Neal thinks it could get interesting, because the Astros finish the season on the road, where they have struggled this season (30-46).
The Angels finish with a four-game series against the Texas Rangers – another team that could factor in the wild card race.
