The Twins’ comeback effort fell short Wednesday night at Target Field. The Phillies bolted to a 6-0 lead in the first inning and held on for a 9-8 victory. Trevor Plouffe and Josh Willingham each homered for the second straight game.

P.J. Walters left the game after throwing fifteen pitches because of shoulder stiffness. He surrendered four straight singles before leaving. He’s scheduled to undergo an MRI on Thursday.
