We don’t have Marty McFly’s Sports Almanac to predict the future, but Holzhauer’s national fame could lead to a guest writing opportunity for Baseball Prospectus, the popular MLB publication run by Minnesota native, Aaron Gleeman.
Gleeman, who authored a book about the great players, coaches and moments in Twins history, used his power as Baseball Pro’s editor-in-chief to extend an invitation for Holzenhauer to serve as a guest writer.
The offer, at the very least, got Holzenhauer’s attention.

Gleeman tells Bring Me The News that the offer is legit and “hopefully we can make it work.”
“We always have a series of guest authors in the BP Annual,” Gleeman added. “This year one of them was Nick Offerman, for example. I have no doubt Holzhauer could come up with plenty of interesting essay ideas.”
Holzhauer won his 21st straight “Jeopardy!” game Thursday, good for the second-longest streak in the quiz competition’s history, trailing only Ken Jennings’ streak of 74 straight in 2004.
A Las Vegas gambler, Holzhauer has employed analytics and strategy with his encyclopedic knowledge to accumulate a massive $1.6 million in winnings in just 21 game.
In an interview with The Athletic, Holzhauer said he’s a Chicago Cubs fan and has always dreamed of working in Major League Baseball. Writing about it for a respected publication might be the next best thing, and maybe, if he does take the offer, he’ll have some interesting thoughts on the Twins.
