With Trevor May on the mound and Torii Hunter hitting a three-run homer, the Twins earned a 7-2 victory over the Indians Sunday. They also took the three-game series two games to one.
May had the best start of his career, allowing one run and four hits in six innings, the Star Tribune reports. May finished with a 4.76 ERA.
May is now 1-1 this season, and it is his first win since Sept. 14, according to the Star Tribune. Former Twins pitcher Anthony Swarzak was pitching for the Indians, the Associated Press reports.
Hunter hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning, marking his first home run for the Twins since 2007.

Minnesota loaded the bases in the second, then scored three in a row.
Oswaldo Arcia hit a sacrifice fly bringing Kenny Vargas in for the run. Eduardo Escobar had an RBI single to follow, and a fielding error on Shane Robinson’s grounder brought in the final run for the inning.
Robinson had a second RBI in the fourth, bringing the score to 4-1 before Hunter’s homer.
The Indians’ Carlos Santana hit his 100th career home run to lead off the ninth inning.
Minnesota heads to Kansas City next for another three-game series. The Twins won their first series against Kansas City 2-1 this season.
