The Twins snapped a five game losing streak by blasting the Orioles, 19-7 at Target Field last night. Each of the first six hitters in Minnesota’s lineup finished with at least two hits — Denard Span led the way with five RBI and two sensational catches in centerfield. Justin Morneau finished with a season-best four hits. Minnesota totaled 20 hits.
The most ironic stat of the night is that Josh Willingham, who leads the team in RBI, was the only player to go without an RBI in this one. Check out the big night quite a few players had…
Denard Span: 3-5, 2 runs, 5 RBI
Ben Revere: 4-6, 3 RBI
Joe Mauer: 2-5, sixth homer of the season, 2 RBI
Justin Morneau: 4-5, 2 doubles, 3 runs
Trevor Plouffe: 2-4, 3 runs
Jamey Carroll: 2-3, 3 runs, 2 RBI
The Twins’ previous season-high for runs in a game was 11, which they had done multiple times.
