Oswaldo Arcia is out of the Twins’ lineup for at least Saturday’s game due to pain in his right wrist, the Pioneer Press reports.
Arcia, 22, experienced discomfort in the same area of his wrist that caused him to miss a dozen games toward the end of the 2013 season, the paper says. Twins managers Ron Gardenhire told the Pioneer Press he almost took Arcia out of the game Friday, but wanted to play through it.
According to the Star Tribune, Arcia has been experiencing pain all week; the paper says Gardehire believes it happened in the batting cage in Chicago.
Jason Kubel took Arcia’s place in the outfield against Cleveland (3-1) today. Kyle Gibson is getting his first start of the season on the mound.

Arcia is batting 2-for-18 this year (.111), with six strikeouts and a walk. He’s scored twice and tallied two RBI.
One of those was big though: The young Venezuelan had the game-winning triple to center field Thursday to push the Twins past the White Sox – Minnesota’s first and so far only win of the season.
No word on a possible DL stint yet for Arcia, but the Pioneer Press says he’ll have his wrist examined by a specialist Saturday.
