The Minnesota Twins blew a 6-0 lead on Sunday afternoon, surrendering eight unanswered runs in an 8-6 loss to the Seattle Mariners.
The Twins got off to a fast start as Nelson Cruz got Minnesota on the board with a sacrifice fly in the first inning. The Twins added three more runs in the bottom of the third with a Max Kepler sacrifice fly and a Byron Buxton double to go ahead 4-0.

Buxton continued to terrorize Seattle starter Chris Flexen, launching a 428-foot moonshot in the fifth inning to score Cruz and put the Twins ahead 6-0.

While Matt Shoemaker cruised early for the Twins, he ran into trouble in the sixth. Kyle Seager and Taylor Trammell launched home runs that put the Mariners within striking distance at 6-4 and Seattle got another run in the seventh to make it a 6-5 game.
With the game on the line in the ninth inning, Alex Colomé allowed a three-run homer to Seager to give the Mariners an 8-6 lead.

With the Twins held hitless over the final 4.1 innings, the Mariners held on for the comeback victory.
The Twins are now 5-4 on the season and will open a four-game series with the Boston Red Sox on Monday afternoon.
