From the not-so-flashy moves department, the Minnesota Twins added four to their 40-man roster today, bringing them to a current tally of 39.
Highly thought of Class A utility man Max Kepler headlines the list. He hit .237 with nine homers and 40 RBI in 61 games at Class A Cedar Rapids.
Switch-hitting middle infielder Jorge Polanco is another name that should catch Twins fans attention. Polanco, who hit .305 at Cedar Rapids while driving in 78, was drafted third overall by Moises Alou and the Escogido Lions of the Dominican Winter League in September.
Those you may not know are first baseman Kennys Vargas and left-hander Logan Darnell.
Darnell started 11 games for Class AAA Rochester last year, coming out with an even 4-4 record, while posting a 4.26 ERA.
Vargas, who has been with the organization since he was 18, hit 19 home runs at Class A+ Fort Myers.
Not exactly the big free-agent news you were hoping for, but keep your head up, maybe Kenny Rogers, Rick Reed, or Terry Mulholland will un-retire and sign with the club in the coming days.
