Glen Perkins hasn’t pitched for the Twins since blowing a save on April 10… of last season.
But he could be back on the mound as soon as this afternoon. The Twins activated him from the 60-day disabled list (torn labrum), putting an end to 16 months of rehab that culminated with eight appearances in the minor leagues over the past couple of weeks.

How’d the former All-Star closer do during his rehab assignment? He allowed 5 runs on 6 hits and 5 walks in 7 1/3 innings. Perkins struck out 10.
Perkins’ last appearance at Target Field was Oct. 2, 2015. That was one year, 10 months and 15 days ago.
Congrats to Perkins on his long-awaited comeback. Remember, he sent our friends at Go 96.3 FM a sweet pizza oven while he was hurt. It’s available for all of us to use here in the GoMN office.
Just had to fire up The Glen Perkins Super Pizza Oven 9000 to celebrate Friday. Had to get it on. Had to. pic.twitter.com/X4ycUdsMDJ
