The Twins activated outfielder Oswaldo Arcia then optioned him to Triple-A Rochester.
Arcia has been nursing an injured right wrist in Rochester. He was the Twins Opening Day right fielder, but has been out of the lineup since the first week of the season.

Hardball Talk says it’s an odd move. Arcia spent the majority of last season in the majors. He hit .251 with 14 home runs in 97 games.
In addition, with Josh Willingham also injured, the Twins have been using infielders like Eduardo Nunez, Eduardo Escobar and Danny Santana in the outfield.
Arcia could bring a little power back to the Twins lineup. He has a home run and four doubles in 12 games at Rochester, this season.
“He needs to play,” Twins assistant general manager Rob Antony told FOX Sports Net on Wednesday. “He needs to get at-bats. He’s not on top of his game offensively.”
Oswaldo Arcia reinstated from DL and optioned to Rochester today. Arcia has hit .308 (12-39), HR, 4 2B & 6 RBI in 12 games with #Wings.

In 50 career games at Rochester, Arcia is hitting .311 with a .978 OPS.
It is possible that Arcia wasn’t ready for a return. He was still dealing with pain in the wrist during early May.
Gardy was told Arcia is not ready RT @bester19: @LaVelleNeal I don't understand why, please explain.
