The ever-evolving series that is Rickbazz Muburkio continues on this Wednesday night with the newest edition of the Wolves 2013 NBA Draft second-guessathon.
Last time we joined you, Trey Burke was finishing off his second consecutive loss to Minnesota, results that spit in the face of this post’s conclusions this season.
Burke may have the stats and the hype, but Rubio and Muhammad have the wins.
But Burke still has the hype, which is why we’re back with you tonight.
TREY BURKE: The Jazz point guard received a not-so-surprising honor Wednesday night, as he was named to the rookie team for the NBA Rising Stars Challenge at All-Star weekend.
Burke and 76ers point guard Michael Carter-Williams headline the rookie team, while Pelicans big man Antonio Davis, not playing tonight against Minnesota because of a dislocated finger, and reigning rookie of the year Damian Lillard will lead the sophomores.
In the more immediate, it is becoming increasingly obvious that the Salt Lake Tribune has nothing else to write about aside from Burke, so here’s a feature about how the bank-shot has become a staple of his game. If you’re not into that, here’s something equally as interesting.
SHABAZZ MUHAMMAD: Shabazz did not make the Rising Stars Challenge.
RICKY RUBIO: The Wolves point guard is having his best shooting month of the season, firing at nearly a 40 percent clip. In his last four games, he’s 14-of-28 from the floor as he tries to shed the reputation of worst shooter in league history.
While it may take a few more than four games to do so, it’s a nice start, and the evolution of the rest of his game seems to continue, as he still leads the league in steals at 2.66 per game.
SUMMARY: Burke bellows from the highest of Utah mountains once again, Shabazz continues to be buried on the bench, and Ricky seems to be making strides.
