Karl-Anthony Towns is a developing NBA mogul and he boosted his stock further on Tuesday by winning his third straight Western Conference Rookie of the Month award.
When he’s not racking up rookie awards on the court he’s spending a little time writing a rookie blog for GQ. In his latest entry, Towns talked about his favorite All-Star Game memories and listed his top five movies.
They are, in no particular order:
- Coach Carter
- Space Jam
- Love and Basketball
- The Dark Knight
- Paid in Full
Meanwhile, Towns’ head coach, Sam Mitchell, made some fun news following a loss to the Lakers by saying he hates Kobe Bryant, who torched Minnesota for 38 points (a season high for the soon-to-retire Laker legend) Tuesday night.
Kobe torched Sam Mitchell’s team AGAIN last night. Poor Sam Mitchell. https://t.co/UiRLnYQYmi pic.twitter.com/yyuuhgx8EL

Kobe and Mitchell go way back. Ten years ago – when Mitchell was coaching the Toronto Raptors – Kobe scored 81 points in one of the greatest individual efforts in NBA history.
