The Minnesota Wild’s woes continued Thursday night in a 4-1 loss to the Maple Leafs. Air Canada Center in Toronto was loud and raucous during the first period, but quiet over the final two periods because the game was already out of reach for the punch-less Wild.
Toronto scored 50 seconds into the game and went to 2-0 with a second goal just 5:11 into the game. Minnesota had no chance, as they failed to score more than one goal for the tenth time in the last 17 games — 15 of which have been losses.
The Wild has scored only 11 goals in its last 11 road games — all of which are losses. Nick Johnson scored the only goal for the Wild, but it didn’t come until late in the third period.
